1. Data Controller

The data controller for this website is Stackbyte LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England & Wales (registration number: Pending). For any data protection enquiries, contact us at team@stackbyte.app.

2. What Data We Collect

When you use our website, we may collect the following personal data:

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, optional category selection, and the content of your app suggestion.
  • Technical data: standard web server logs which may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited. This data is collected automatically by our hosting provider.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To receive and review app suggestions submitted through our contact form.
  • To respond to your enquiries if follow-up is needed.
  • To maintain the security and performance of our website.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interest (to operate and improve our website and services) and, where you submit a contact form, on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Microsoft Azure (Static Web Apps): website hosting and deployment. Azure may collect standard web server logs including your IP address. Our site is hosted in the UAE North region.
  • Web3Forms: form submission processing. When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, category selection, and message are transmitted to Web3Forms and temporarily stored on their servers (hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States) for up to 30 days before automatic deletion. Submissions are also forwarded to our inbox via email. See Web3Forms' privacy policy at web3forms.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile): bot protection on the contact form. Cloudflare processes browser signals to verify you are a human visitor. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers process data outside the United Kingdom. In particular, contact form submissions are processed by Web3Forms on infrastructure located in the United States.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) to ensure your data is protected in accordance with UK GDPR. You may contact us at team@stackbyte.app for further information about the safeguards in place.

7. Cookies

This website does not currently use cookies for tracking or analytics purposes. The Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection on our contact form may set functional cookies as part of its verification process. If we introduce additional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and provide a cookie consent mechanism before any non-essential cookies are set.

8. Data Retention

Form submissions processed by Web3Forms are temporarily stored for up to 30 days before automatic deletion. Submissions forwarded to our email inbox are retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected, typically no longer than 24 months. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider's standard retention policies.

9. Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your personal data.
  • Restriction: request restriction of processing.
  • Portability: request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at team@stackbyte.app. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Complaints

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
