Questions

How long does an app take?

It depends on the number of screens, what the app has to connect to and how much is already decided. We set out a timeline in the proposal, before any work starts.

iOS, Android or both?

Usually both. We build with a cross-platform framework where it suits, so one codebase runs on iPhone and Android and costs less to maintain. If an app needs something only a native build can do, we say so in the proposal.

Do you handle the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We prepare the listings, screenshots and review submissions, and deal with any questions from Apple or Google during review.

Who owns the app and its store accounts?

The developer accounts are set up in your name, so the app is listed under your business. Ownership of the code is agreed in the proposal before any work starts.

Do you maintain it after launch?

If you want us to. Operating system updates, store policy changes and bug fixes can be part of the project or a separate monthly arrangement.

Should I build a web app or a mobile app?

It depends on how often people will use it and whether it needs phone features such as notifications, the camera or offline use. We talk this through in discovery, and sometimes the answer is a website first.
