How API credits work
Every Stackbyte API draws on one monthly credit balance. What a call costs and what happens when you go over.
All Stackbyte APIs use one key and one monthly credit balance. You do not need a separate subscription for each API.
Cost per call
Most lookups cost 1 credit. A sanctions screen, company search or property query costs 2. A CVE batch costs 1 credit per 10 CVEs. Repeating the same request within 24 hours costs 1 credit, whichever endpoint it is.
Plans
Free includes 100 credits a month. Starter is $19 for 2,000, Growth is $49 for 10,000 and Scale is $149 for 50,000. Credits can be spent on any mix of APIs, so 2,000 Starter credits could cover 2,000 CVE lookups, 1,000 sanctions screens, or a combination.
Going over the allowance
Paid plans keep working after the allowance is used and bill the extra credits at the end of the month: $0.012 each on Starter, $0.008 on Growth and $0.005 on Scale. The free plan stops at 100 credits and never produces a bill.
What is not charged
Failed requests are free. A lookup that finds no record is charged as normal, because confirming that a record does not exist is a valid result.
